Location : The Chopta Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the range of Himalayas, in the northern Indian state of Uttranchal.

Wildlife Attractions : The Chopta Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a large number of wildlife species including 110 tree species, 50 mammal species and 580 bird species.

» Flora - A major portion of the park consists of trees like Sal, Chir, Anauri, Bakli, Bamboo, Haldu and several others.
» Fauna - The park is popular for its population of Monal Pheasant and Musk Deer. Other wildlife in the park includes leopard, small indian civet, Indian Gray Mongoose, Common Otter, Jungle Cat, Sloth bears, Black naped grey hare, Langur, Sambar deer, Barking deer, Porcupine etc.
» Avi-fauna - Chopta has many colorfull bird species including rarest Monal Pheasant, Eagles, Hornbills, Barbets, Peacocks, Sandpiper, Ducks, Jungle fowl and many more. Its rich bird life makes it one of the popular birdwatching spots in India.

ITINERARY

DAY 1   : Depart Mumbai to Haridwar by 12171 LTT HW AC SUP EXP. at 7.55 am. .

DAY 2   : Hardwar - Chopta (180 kms 5 - 6 hours )
             Arrive Haridwar at 01.30 pm. and depart for Chopta by road.
             Chopta is famous as "Mini Switzerland" in Iindia, chopta is one of the most mesmerizing alpine       
             medows in Garhwal Himalayas with excellent camping opportunities. Night halt at Chopta.

DAY 4   : Chopta - Deoriatal (20 km - 1 hour drive, 3 km trek)
             Deoriatal (8200 ft) is a sparkling lake surrounded by dense forest. The famous Himalayan trouts
             are found in abundance in the lake. is about three kilometers in circumference. Also find a lovely    
             view of the Chaukhamba & Kedardom peaks.
              Activity - Bird watching, Dusk hunting & Night safari.
             Drive to Sari Village & start trekking to Deoriatal. when coming back visit Musk Deer farming          
             centre. Night halt at Chopta.

DAY 5   : Chopta - Tungnath - Chandrashila Summit (4.5 kms trek)
             Tungnath (12144 ft), a 1000 years old highest temple of Shiva in the Himalayas, is a situated
             atop the Chandranath Parvat on a 3 km steep hike from Chopta.
             Early morning steep climb of 3.5 km to Tungnath. Further up 1.5 km for the most breathtaking
             view of the high Himalayas from Chandrashila peak. Night halt at Tungnath OR Chopta.

DAY 6  : Early morning trek back to Chopta. After Breakfast proceed to Haridwar via Hrishikesh with
            sightseeing. Attained evening aarti at Haridwar. Depart to Delhi by Mussoorie Express at 22.30 pm.

DAY 7   : Arrive at Delhi and proceed to New Delhi to board train to Mumbai by Golden Temple Express.

DAY 8   : Arrive Mumbai at 06.00 am.

PERIOD : May be in month of November (Program can be organised for your group of minimum 20 people)

Things to bring along : Back sack, water bottle, cap, canvas shoes, slippers, hanky / napkin, 2 pairs of extra clothes, woolen cloths, torch, soap, towel, tooth brush, tooth paste.

Camp Charges : - Per Head ( Haridwar to Haridwar )
